Battery / Charging System Warning
The charging system has failed — the car is running off the battery alone and will die soon.
What it means
Despite the battery shape, this light usually means the alternator is not charging. The engine keeps running on stored battery power only. Depending on the battery's condition, you may have 15–60 minutes of driving left before the car stalls and will not restart.
Can you keep driving?
Only briefly, to reach a safe place or a nearby shop. Turn off the A/C, heated seats, radio, and lights (if safe) to stretch remaining power. Do not shut the engine off until you are parked somewhere you can stay — it may not restart.

Minimize electrical load and drive directly to a shop or safe parking spot.

Do not turn the engine off until parked — a weak battery may not restart it.

Check for a broken serpentine belt if you can do so safely (engine off).
